Candice Davis

Candice Davis trained at Anna Cheselka School of Ballet in Studio City, California, under principal dancers from Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, American Ballet Theatre, and Joffrey Ballet, and with Diane Lauridsen at Lauridsen Ballet Centre in Torrance, California. She studied jazz, tap and modern throughout Los Angeles and has performed with New York City Ballet’s Stravinsky Tribute at the Greek Theatre, twice at Charleston’s Piccolo Spoleto Festival, an appearance in New York and a cirque-style production in Las Vegas.  After ten seasons with South Bay Ballet, Candice recently retired as their Assistant Artistic Director serving also as rehearsal director, choreographer and guest performer with roles in The Nutcracker and Graduation Ball.   Her choreographic credits include several original additions to South Bay Ballet’s repertoire including Alice in Wonderland, Tarantella, and the collaborative premieres Cinderella, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Sleeping Beauty and Coppélia. Candice was the Executive Producer of the prestigious Regional Dance America/Pacific Festival in 2011 and received the Daily Breeze Making a Difference in the Arts “Director’s Award” that same year.  Candice has a Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA in music and is on staff at Lauridsen Ballet Centre as instructor, piano accompanist and choreographer for the Summer Intensive programs.  She composes music and continues to work on her collection of original piano compositions entitled “Unexpected Trajectory.”  Candice is a founding member of KWDP.
