Kenneth Walker Dance Project returns to Piccolo Spoleto for a 2nd season

LOS ANGELES, CA: May 14, 2007 – Kenneth Walker Dance Project (KWDP), a contemporary ballet company based in Southern California, returns to the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston, South Carolina for the second time in as many years. On Wednesday, June 6th, 12:00 Noon, at the Footlight Players Theatre on 20 Queen Street, KWDP will perform repertoire favorites including All That Glitters and Someday, Maybe, Forever and the company premiere of No Axe to Grind.

Kenneth Walker Dance Project (KDWP) is a vehicle for nationally recognized choreographer Kenneth Walker. KWDP appeared last summer at both the prestigious Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina and the AAPHERD Southeast Conference in Virginia. KWDP has also appeared at the Los Angeles Dance Invitational, Palm Desert Choreography Under the Stars, Miles Playhouse in Santa Monica, and Central Coast Summerfest in Monterey, California. Mr. Walker’s choreography has been well received. John Meehan former director of ABT Studio Company, now currently with Hong Kong Ballet, described Walker’s Savage Grace as “…a fun piece, full of energy with some nice choreographic invention;” and, Alun Jones,
former director of Louisville Ballet called Savage Grace “tremendous.”
